Volume house builder has bought the Land on Ottershaw East
Updated: Nov 13, 2021
We can confirm that house builder Vistry, has exchanged contracts with The landowner of Brox Road Nurseries and Richborough Estates.
London-listed Vistry Group is a volume housebuilder which formed from the merger of Linden Homes, Bovis and Galliford Try in 2019. It is currently the 8th largest and growing. It has rapidly expanded its land bank over the last year as it has ramped up home building activity. The firm increased its controlled land bank by c.1,600 over the last 12 months as it reported in July. The firm also acquired 5,642 new plots over the same period. It has built 8,954 homes in 2020/21. Since the merger and headed up by CEO Greg Fitzgerald the share price has increased by 30%. According to Wikipedia Fitzgerald is regarded as a straight talking "likeable, sweary leader". He has also been described as "ballsy" and popular amongst investment analysts.
Bovis homes previously had a poor reputation for workmanship and customer safisfaction. However apparently after Fitzgerald took over things improved. The consumer website trustpilot is not so complementary however but bear in mind that there is always a selection bias of poor experience on such websites.
